Company Profile

Hammond Valve has allied itself with the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC), which makes Hammond Valve proud to be associated with this prestigious association, numbering more than 5,000 active members. The PHCC only applies this official designation to manufacturer partners with reputations for quality and dedication to distribution through wholesalers. PHCC promotes the use of traditional lines of distribution (i.e. manufacturer to plumbing wholesaler, to plumbing contractor). Manufacturers selling to home centers do an “end-run” by eliminating the plumbing wholesaler, and sometimes even eliminating the plumbing contractor. Hammond’s focus remains on the professionals, those who know how to sell, install and service the fluid-flow and gas-flow marketplace. Just walk in to a home center with a broken valve stem and ask someone to repair it. That blank-faced stare is not the stare of someone who is deep in thought. Hammond Valve remains committed to wholesaler needs with a full line of valves, fast delivery and dependable service. As the valve specialist, Hammond Valve can maintain its product leadership with innovation and refined design across a line that includes: * Gate, Globe, Check, Ball and Butterfly Valves * Brass, Bronze and Iron Valves * 1/8″ to 24″ Valves * 3 lb. Gas to 300 lb. Steam Valves * Domestic and Import Valves * Brass & Bronze Plumbing Valves * Heating and Gas Valves If you’re looking for longer valve life and better value, turn to Hammond Valve. Give yourself the advantage of 100% commitment to your business. Contact your Hammond Valve representative at (800) 348-6544.

Hammond Valve Capabilities

Hammond Valve started in 1911 and was purchased by the Milwaukee Valve Company in 1991.  Our company started out as a small manufacturer of plumbing and heating valves.  Over the years, the company expanded its offering to what now consists of over 5,000 items, used in a very wide range of applications and industries, from very small plumbing valves used in the basement of your home, to large commercial and industrial valves and nearly every size and style of valve in between.

Because of our long history, our experience in a broad range of services, and finally our people, many of who have been with the company for 25 years or more, we have developed a unique blend of capabilities unmatched in our industry by any of our competitors.  The purpose of this write-up is to outline these capabilities for the benefit of our current and future customers.

We are an international organization on both the supply and sales sides of the business.  We apply our stringent quality controls to the production of all material, whether we make it in our factories in Wisconsin, or our wholly owned operation in China, or one of our joint ventures elsewhere in the world.

We provide valve customers all over the world with the best and most economical valve solutions to their demanding specifications, which vary widely according to the service and geography.  This international capability is important in today’s world economy, and because we were a leader in the overseas production of quality valves and components, we are still generally way ahead of most of our competitors in this important regard.

In terms of our design and manufacturing capabilities, which translate directly to our ability to deliver these quality valve solutions, we consider ourselves second to none.  We have a well-staffed engineering department, with groups in each of our factory operations to support not only the manufacturing of the many products, but also the design and the critical translation of the designs into manufactured items – a key process where other suppliers, without our depth of experience, often fall down.

Our engineers are supported by state-of-the-art computer tools, from 3D design using Solidworks, to finite element analysis (FEA) using COSMOS, to computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using CF Design software, to automated data acquisition in our laboratories using Labview.   We operate our own fire test facility to help us maintain the most advanced fire safe designs to the latest API and other standards.  We translate our 3D designs directly to tool paths both on our shop floor and in our pattern shop, which supports our in-house foundry operation, as well as to our engineering and contracting customers, who use these models in their equipment and building designs.

Our factory operations are supported by our continual reinvestment in equipment and machine tools, which enables us to maintain very tight control on our part manufacturing.  This translates to more predictable and successful performance of the final products once they’re installed.

All of our factory operations are certified to the International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 standard for design and manufacturing control.  We support our customers in their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) endeavors, and internally we maintain the highest level of safety and environmental compliance to the latest ISO 14001 standard, in all our factory operations.
